being a christian in the 21st century, to me, means coming to terms
with one's own humanity-weakness- and having the courage and the humility
to give up what it is that we want, love, and selfishly believe in order that
we may have room to be filled with a truth that our "highly advanced" 2nd millenium
society cannot ever formulate or manufacture. it, i believe, must include
an openness to the destruction of ourselves and the structures we have sought to
build in our own image and likeness (along with the pain that may come along with it)...
only then can we begin to get a glimpse of what it is God has in store for us...He that
holds us in the palm of His hand, we a mere speck, and loves us.
